Apostolic Journey: the stops in Uruguay, Argentina and Peru (6–17 November)
The Holy See Press Office confirms today that the journey will proceed according to the previously published programme. Dr Luigi Carbone: no contraindications.
Following today’s official confirmation (statement B0842), the Apostolic Journey of Pope Leo XIV to Uruguay, Argentina and Peru will take place according to the programme published on 21 September 2026. Dr Luigi Carbone stated that, given the current clinical picture, there are no contraindications to the trip. The Pope: «I am looking forward to returning to the continent where I’ve experienced so many moments of my life».
Uruguay (6–8 November) — Montevideo, Paysandú, Florida.
Friday 6 November. Departure from Rome/Fiumicino at 7:00; arrival at Montevideo-Carrasco at 16:30. Welcome ceremony in Plaza Independencia; meeting with authorities, civil society and the diplomatic corps; visit to the President of the Republic (José Artigas Building); Vespers in the Metropolitan Cathedral.
Saturday 7 November. Transfer to Paysandú: Holy Mass in Parque París Londres. Return to Montevideo: meeting with the social community of Casavalle; meeting with the world of education at the Catholic University of Uruguay; prayer vigil at the Centenario Stadium.
Sunday 8 November. Holy Mass in Florida, outside the Cathedral Basilica, National Shrine of the Virgen de los Treinta y Tres. Farewell from Uruguay and departure for Buenos Aires.
Argentina (8–11 November) — Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Luján.
Sunday 8 November (evening). Arrival at Aeroparque Jorge Newbery; visit to the Monument to General San Martín; welcome ceremony at the Casa Rosada; visit to the President; meeting with authorities, civil society and the diplomatic corps at the Palacio Libertad.
Monday 9 November. Visit to the Pequeño Cottolengo Don Orione in Claypole; Holy Mass at the Monumento de los Españoles; meeting with the world of work (Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina); meeting with leaders of Christian communities and religious traditions (Palacio San Martín); Vespers with the Argentine bishops in the Cathedral.
Tuesday 10 November. Day in Córdoba: Holy Mass at the Military Aviation School; meeting with bishops, clergy, religious and pastoral workers in the Cathedral. Return to Buenos Aires: vigil with young people at the Monumento de los Españoles.
Wednesday 11 November. Visit to the Federal Penitentiary Complex of Buenos Aires; Holy Mass outside the Basilica of Our Lady of Luján. Farewell from Argentina and departure for Lima.
Peru (11–17 November) — Lima, Chiclayo, Santa Cruz de Succhabamba, Cusco, Pucallpa.
Wednesday 11 November (evening). Arrival at the Callao Air Base; welcome ceremony at the Palacio de Gobierno; visit to the President; meeting with authorities, civil society and the diplomatic corps at the Gran Teatro Nacional.
Thursday 12 November. Meeting with the bishops of Peru; Midday Prayer in Lima Cathedral; meeting on the challenges and hopes of the Peruvian people; prayer vigil with young people and university students at the Estadio Monumental.
Friday 13 November. Transfer to Chiclayo: Holy Mass at the Pampas de Pimentel; private visit to the Saint Óscar A. Romero Chapel; meetings with clergy and the university community; supper with the priests of the diocese.
Saturday 14 November. Rite of coronation of the Immaculate Virgin in the Cathedral of Saint Mary (Chiclayo); Holy Mass in Santa Cruz de Succhabamba; prayer meeting for the close of the Jubilee Year of Saint Toribio de Mogrovejo (official itinerary: Chiclayo – Santa Cruz de Succhabamba – Zaña – Chiclayo).
Sunday 15 November. Cusco: meeting with the faithful and popular piety at Saqsaywaman; Angelus outside the Cathedral. Pucallpa: meeting with missionaries and Amazonian peoples; Holy Mass at the Villa Deportiva Regional Ucayali. Return to Lima.
Monday 16 November. Visit to the Hermanitas de los Ancianos Desamparados; Holy Mass at the Las Palmas Air Base; farewell ceremony and departure for Rome.
Tuesday 17 November. Arrival at Rome/Fiumicino.
