Today's Holy See Press Office Bulletin, Monday 26 October, so far contains four communications: the audience with the President of the Republic of Slovenia (N. 0838, Bulletin), the Pope's greeting to the Sisters of Charity of Saint Jeanne-Antide Thouret (N. 0839, Bulletin, Italian), the day's audiences with the credential letters of the ambassador of Chile (N. 0840, Audiences, Credential letters) and the telegram on the death of Paolo Romeo (N. 0841, Bulletin). No appointments so far.

Audience with the President of the Republic of Slovenia. Pope Leo XIV received Nataša Pirc Musar, President of the Republic of Slovenia, who subsequently met with Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State, accompanied by Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations. During the "cordial talks", "appreciation was expressed for the existing good bilateral relations", and international matters were discussed, "with particular attention given to the region in the Western Balkans, as well as to the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East."

Greeting to the Sisters of Charity of Saint Jeanne-Antide Thouret. Receiving the delegates of the elective General Chapter, the Pope reflected on the theme of their work, "Rooted in Christ, in mission in the world": "Having our roots in Christ means, following the example of Saint Jeanne-Antide, placing Him alone at the centre of one's existence and thoughts." He recalled attention to "the integral good, spiritual and temporal, of one's neighbour", essential "in a society such as ours, which tends to fragment the human person" (our translation; no official English text yet). Audiences and the credential letters of the ambassador of Chile. In the morning the Pope also received José Luís Gerardo Ponce de León, bishop of Manzini, Eswatini, Cardinal Giorgio Marengo, apostolic prefect of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and James Sydney Sinclair Manley, the new ambassador of Chile to the Holy See, who presented his credential letters. Born in Iquique in 1952, a career diplomat, he previously served as ambassador to Indonesia and East Timor and to Singapore.

Telegram on the death of Cardinal Paolo Romeo. Cardinal Paolo Romeo, archbishop emeritus of Palermo, died on Sunday 25 October. In his telegram to Bishop Antonino Raspanti of Acireale, the Pope remembers "this dear brother who generously served the Gospel and the Church", first as a priest of the diocese of Acireale, then in the diplomatic service of the Holy See, "especially as pontifical representative in Haiti, Colombia, Canada, Italy and the Republic of San Marino", and finally as archbishop of Palermo.
