Vatican Report | Wednesday midday, 4 November 2026

Today's Bulletin brings three episcopal appointments in Brazil and Mexico and the morning's audiences, while at the Press Office the Laudato Si' Action Platform marks five years: more than 13,000 participants and a new Digital Atlas.
🎖️ Appointments
The Pope appointed Carlos José de Oliveira, 59, as Bishop of Limeira, Brazil, transferring him from the Diocese of Apucarana, which he had led since 2018. For the Archdiocese of Guadalajara, Mexico, he appointed two auxiliary bishops: Ramón Duarte Miranda, 57, parish priest of San Joaquín and episcopal vicar, and Héctor Michel Figueroa, 56, parish priest of San Miguel Arcángel in Cocula and also an episcopal vicar.
🌱 Laudato Si', five years of the Platform
The Press Office presented the 5th annual Report of the Laudato Si' Action Platform, the digital space of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development. Programme director Alonso de Llanes said the Platform has welcomed "more than 13,000 participants, including over 6,200 institutions", and announced a Digital Atlas of Catholic ecological action and four priorities for the next five years. Prefect Alessandra Smerilli, recalling Leo XIV's encyclical Magnifica humanitas, said that "caring for creation and caring for the human person are one single task" (our translation).
🗓️ Audiences
This morning the Pope received Chile's President José Antonio Kast and his entourage, and a delegation of L'Œuvre d'Orient and the Institut Chrétiens d'Orient. At the General Audience he said that "politics that tends to the wounds of peoples" offers grounds for hope.
