Pope Leo XIV's words at the All Saints Angelus, with the Georgia martyrs, Oleshky and tomorrow's Mass at the Verano

Today's Holy See Press Office Bulletin, Sunday 1 November, Solemnity of All Saints, so far contains one communication: the Pope's words at the recitation of the Angelus (No. 0859, Bulletin, Italian).
The Pope's words at the All Saints Angelus. At noon Pope Leo XIV appeared at the window of his study in the Apostolic Palace to pray the Angelus with the faithful in Saint Peter's Square. The solemnity, he said, "invites us to share in the joy of that countless family of men and women who, following the Lord Jesus, have made their lives a gift to God and to their neighbors". Commenting on the Beatitudes (Mt 5:1-12), he said that "holiness, in fact, cannot be reduced to any calculation" and that "holiness is not a privilege reserved for a few, but a universal vocation that speaks to each of us where we live". He added: "God sees the good that we do not see, knows stories that we do not know and reaches hearts to which we have no access." Text on vatican.va
After the Angelus: the Georgia martyrs and Oleshky. The Pope recalled the beatification yesterday in Savannah, Georgia, United States, of Pedro de Corpa and four companions, Friars Minor "killed in odium fidei in 1597". On the humanitarian operation for the civilian population of Oleshky, he expressed the hope "that the cooperation between the parties, which made this necessary humanitarian act possible, will strengthen the desire for dialogue and lead to new concrete peace initiatives".
The Dakar Games, the Mission with the Poor and the Verano. The Pope greeted the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar (until 13 November), "the first Olympic event to be held on the African continent", and the Mission with the Poor promoted in Rome by the Friars Minor from 8 to 15 November. He greeted the Syro-Malabar faithful, the "Capiteo" group from Borbiago di Mira and the participants in the "Race of the Saints" organized by the Don Bosco Missions. He recalled that tomorrow afternoon, on the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed, he will celebrate Mass at the Verano Cemetery, inviting prayers for the departed, "especially those whom no one remembers".
