Pope Leo XIV has sent a telegram of condolence for the death of Paolo Romeo. This morning he also received the president of Slovenia and the credentials of Chile’s new ambassador. 🕯️ Telegram for Paolo Romeo In today’s Bulletin (B0841) the Pope writes to Antonino Raspanti of Acireale, thinking with affection of “this dear brother who generously served the Gospel and the Church” (our translation). He recalls Romeo’s ministry as a priest of Acireale, his diplomatic service (Haiti, Colombia, Canada, Italy and San Marino), and his years as archbishop of Palermo.
