Pope Leo XIV receives the holiness conference: without saints history would be "less human"
Pope Leo XIV this morning received participants in the conference "Holiness in History", organised by the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints, in the Apostolic Palace: according to ANSA, it is his first meeting in the Palace since his hospitalisation. In his address, released by the Holy See Press Office, he said: «La storia del mondo senza i santi e le sante sarebbe immensamente più povera, cioè meno umana» ("The history of the world without saints would be immensely poorer, that is, less human", our translation). He called for a «seria e rigorosa» ("serious and rigorous", our translation) review in causes and said the act of canonisation «trascende la contingenza storica» ("transcends historical contingency", our translation).
