Vatican Museums: «A Century of Popemobiles» exhibition opens October 29

The Vatican Museums are opening "A Century of Popemobiles" ("Un secolo di papamobile"): from October 29, eight historic Mercedes-Benz cars tell a hundred years of papal travel, from the Nürburg 460 delivered to Pius XI in 1930 to Pope Leo XIV. Set in a glass pavilion in the Giardino Quadrato, the show also features John XXIII's 300 d Landaulet (1960), the 1886 Benz Patent-Motorwagen, seen as the first car in history, and a current S-Class. It will be presented on October 28 by Museums director Barbara Jatta and curator Sandro Barbagallo.
