Oleshky: Kremlin says "work is ongoing" on the humanitarian crisis raised by Pope Leo XIV

The Kremlin says that on the humanitarian crisis in Oleshky, in the Kherson region, «Работа ведется» ("Work is ongoing", our translation). Dmitry Peskov recalled that the issue had been raised in the 16 October phone call between Pope Leo XIV and Vladimir Putin, in which the Pope "called for a ceasefire to allow the delivery of food and medical assistance, and the voluntary and safe evacuation of the civilian population" (Holy See Press Office). According to Peskov, it was agreed with Donald Trump that Russia's human rights commissioner, Yana Lantratova, would handle the matter (RIA Novosti, Reuters).
