Cuba's ambassador to the Holy See: Leo XIV invited to Cuba, no trip announced

Cuba's ambassador to the Holy See, Leyde Ernesto Rodríguez Hernández, told Avvenire that "Leo XIV has been invited to Cuba" and that "the Cuban people are ready to welcome Pope Leo with the warmth and enthusiasm that characterize them" (our translation). He thanked the Holy See for condemning the US embargo, which it "has always called ethically unacceptable," and recalled Parolin's UN remarks on the "beloved Cuban people." The UN vote on the embargo is days away, with the debate scheduled for October 27-28. This is an invitation: no trip has been announced.
