2026 U.S. midterm elections: live

On November 3, 2026, the United States votes in the midterm elections. All 435 House seats are up, along with 35 Senate seats (33 regular and 2 special elections, in Ohio and Florida) and 36 governorships. A majority takes 51 seats in the Senate and 218 in the House.
Leo XIV, the first pope from the United States, has already voted by mail in Chicago: the story.
The first polls close at midnight Rome time, so results reach Italy overnight between November 3 and 4. Many states also count mail ballots that arrive after Election Day, so some races may stay open for days.
In this live blog we report only races called by AP, in Rome time. Exit polls and projections are labeled as such, with their source.
