Archbishop Francisco Cerro Chaves of Toledo, Primate of Spain, and Auxiliary Bishop Francisco César García Magán issued a communiqué after the train collision between Los Yébenes and Urda on 28 October 2026.

They express “deep concern and closeness” to all those affected, entrust the victims and their families to the Lord, pray for the injured and for those living in “anguish and uncertainty,” and thank emergency, health and security services.

The Archdiocese of Toledo, the parishes of Urda and Los Yébenes and Cáritas Diocesana stand ready to offer “help, accompaniment and support.” The diocesan Church invites the faithful to pray.
