Leo XIV to Uruguay's bishops, priests and religious at Vespers in Montevideo's Metropolitan Cathedral, holding up Blessed Jacinto Vera, the first Bishop of Montevideo: "Beneath the vaults of this cathedral rests the body of Blessed Jacinto Vera. In that tomb, in the hope of the resurrection, are the feet that travelled the roads of Uruguay to bring the gospel to his people. Those who approached him encountered something of Christ's goodness even before hearing a word of his preaching." (CatholicSat; photo Vatican Media). #LeoXIV #Vatican
